Capt. Herb Bailey from Church Army USA (Uncommon Grounds Café) will be visiting on Sunday, March 26 during the regularly scheduled Adult Forum at 9:15am.
The mission of Church Army is to reach the least, the last, and the lost & equip others to “do the work of an evangelist” and further evangelize by ministering where others cannot.
Capt. Herb Bailey is the Ministry Director for the Aliquippa Base of Church Army USA. That base includes Uncommon Grounds Café, Broken Hope Homes, and the Spring Street Farm and Apiary. Uncommon Grounds Café serves as a sanctuary for the least, last and the lost to find hope and a listening ear in an environment that majors on hospitality. Many people come through the doors, aware of their brokenness and are willing to be listened to as they discover a new way of living. Recovery services and great meals intertwine.
Herb and the other officers and candidates spend a good portion of their time listening and encouraging the spiritual growth of the community. This entails meeting with the city administration, county representatives, as well as local pastors and laity. Part of that relationship means encouraging the church to be disciplers through supply preaching, special services, and training. We seek to be agents of reconciliation, bringing people together in the name of Christ to do the work of building the Kingdom of God, here on earth, as it is in Heaven. The goal is to have bases all around the country full of people that recognize that they are called to be Evangelists, trained and prepared to train others to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It starts with us.
